arlie-calalo41THE Northern Police District has introduced five mascots which will serve as “Ambassadors of Goodwill and Influencers of Change” for the district headquarters and four major police stations in Caloocan-Malabon-Navotas-Valenzuela (CAMANAVA) area.

According to NPD director Chief Supt. Edgar Layon: “This is the kind that will surely help in promoting the good image of the police force and its dedication to service and to the people.”

Gen. Layon is all praises for his four police station chiefs – Senior Supt. Bernard Tambaoan (Caloocan), Sr. Supt. Severino Abad, Jr. (Malabon), Sr. Supt. Conrado Gongon (Navotas) and Sr./Supt. Rhoderick Armamento (Valenzuela) – for such well-coordinated project.

The NPD is greatly gratified by the efforts of our top police chiefs and of course the support we continuously get from the four chief executives in CAMANAVA area which assures the success of all projects we are undertaking for the entire residents, says Gen. Layon.
Supt. Bong Dimalanta, district’s public information officer, says the five mascots named as Sr. Insp. Mary Grace Park Kaunlaran for NPD, PO1 Monumento (Caloocan), SPO4 Tambubong (Malabon), PO1 Yoyong Navotenio (Navotas) and SPO1 Pio Valenzuela (Valenzuela), will serve as “Ambassadors of Goodwill and Influencers of Change.”

“This will represent the NPD’s unique identity in forging a strong link with the public they are sworn to serve and protect,” Col. Dimalanta says.

Navotas’ 1st Disaster Preparedness Summit
The Navotas City government has enjoined the support of various national agencies in providing information on disaster and calamities in the country to the 1st Navotas Disaster Preparedness Summit held last week at the Navotas Sports Complex.

Among these agencies are the National Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office, Office of Civil Defense, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services, Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, Department of Interior and Local Government and Bureau of Fire and Protection which have presented the Metro Manila Earthquake Contingency Plan, Geo-Hazard Maps (Earthquake and Tsunami), Hydro Met Hazard, Disaster Preparedness, Fire and Rescue Response and Incident Command System.

The summit, according to Mayor John Rey Tiangco, aims to provide a venue for shared knowledge and awareness on the possible calamities that may struck the city such as fire, typhoon, earthquake, tsunami and storm surge and present the annual investment plan the Local Risk Reduction Management Office of Navotas for the current year.

The city mayor noted that “this activity intends to intensify the existing programs to keep Navotas and its residents safe from calamities.”

Mayor Tiangco says: “I hope that through this summit, we have learned new information that will inspire everyone to take action in behalf of the sector you represent…by working together, you are also protecting your children, family, employee and business.”
