WE all and we must love this woman God gave to us. For us, no one could replace her for she’s the best and the ‘holiest thing alive.”
As our endeared Mama (Levy) celebrates her 84th birthday come Feb. 10, let me cite some notable quotes dedicated for loving and
caring mothers on earth.
“A man loves his sweetheart the most, his wife the best, but his mother the longest.”
“A man’s work is from sun to sun, but a mother’s work is never done.”
“A mom’s hug lasts long after she lets go.” A mother had a slender, small body, but a large heart, a heart so large that everybody’s grief and everybody’s joy found welcome in it, and hospitable accommodation.”
“A mother is not a person to lean on, but a person to make leaning unnecessary.” “A mother understands what a child does not say.”
“A mother is one to whom you hurry when you are troubled.” “A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials, heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine, desert us when troubles thicken around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.”
Ma, we will always love you come what may.
Hold-up Men-cum-Tricycle Drivers
A neophyte Valenzuela City councilor has called the attention of the local police to monitor and arrest suspected hold-up men whose latest modus operandi is to pose as tricycle drivers so that they can easily victimize passengers.
These lawless elements, according to 1st District Councilor Rovin Feliciano, the son of our long-time friend Alvin Feliciano, would carry out their illegal activities especially during late night or wee hours.
“They would pose as tricycle drivers who pick up unsuspecting passengers whom they rob of their personal belongings before the latter could get down,” the visibly-irked Feliciano said as he delivered a privilege speech during last council session as he seeks his colleagues’ support on the matter.
Legitimate Tricycle Operators’ and Drivers’ Associations members, who sought the councilor’s help, had clarified that these hold-up men-cum-drivers were not members of their groups.
As he expects for a swift response from the city police, Councilor Feliciano cautioned the tricycle riding residents to ride only at designated terminals in order to prevent getting victimized by these lawless elements.
To ensure safety for the tricycle-riding public, the city police should set up more checkpoints areas especially during nighttime in order to effectively protect residents especially those who go home late from work.
Our friend and workaholic city police chief Senior Supt. Rhoderick Armamento can surely carry it out with dispatch, right sir?
