BIBIGYANG-DAAN ng Lily’s Files Column ang year-end report ng Quezon City Police District kaugnay sa Nationwide Anti-Crime Program Oplan Lambat-Sibat operations.
Kaugnay nito, buong-pusong pinasalamatan ni QCPD District Director, PC/Supt. Edgardo Tinio ang mamamayan ng Lungsod Quezon dahil sa suportang ipinakita at ibinigay sa hanay ng kapulisan.
QCPD Director Tinio said the aggressive and no non-sense implementation by the QCPD of the nationwide anti-crime program Oplan Lambat-Sibat resulted in the arrest of 5,440 persons for various crimes in Quezon City and the confiscation of 710, 858.37 grams of shabu and marijuana.
In a press conference held last December 28, 2015 at the District Headquarters in Camp Karingal, Tinio said, the bulk of those arrested persons come from the QCPD’s twelve police stations for various crimes such as theft, robbery, rape, homicide, murder and other violation of criminal laws.
The Warrant Section of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) effected the arrest 856 persons with warrants of arrest. 173 of those arrested were listed Top Most Wanted Persons wherein nine were nabbed by the District Intelligence Division (DID) while the rest were arrested by the Police Stations.
The District Anti-illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group had also arrested 97 Top Drug Personalities and confiscated a total of 69, 030.38 grams of shabu with street value at around 276-million. This includes the confiscation recently of 10-kilos of shabu worth P30M from a Chinese National Yong Han Cai y Co, male, 41, resident of Tanza, Cavite and his two cohorts in Macapagal Avenue, Pasay City. Cai’s arrest was an offshoot of a drug-bust last November where three kilos of shabu worth P3M pesos were seized from two arrested drug peddlers.
Police also confiscated 1,827.99 grams of marijuana with estimate street value almost P1M, bringing the total of the illegal drugs seized to 710,858.37 grams.
The relentless Lambat-Sibat operations also led to the seizure and or confiscation of 177 illegally-possessed firearms and ammunition, including that of the busting recently by the District Special Operations Unit of a 10-year old gang of big-time gun runners.
Police operatives seized from the four suspects an M-16 Armalite assault rifle, five shotguns, a caliber .45 pistol, 20 caliber .38 revolvers, four handheld two-way radios, six cellphones, ammunition of different calibers, and other evidences, including the ‘boodle money used in the buy-bust.
The QCPD also confiscated 11 motor vehicles and 584 motorcycles when their drivers could not produce proof of ownership or pertinent documents of the vehicles.
Several assorted car parts and accessories believed to have come from illegal sources were also confiscated by police operatives during One Time Big Time anti-criminality operation, a segment of Lambat-Sibat, in line with the police ‘Visitorial Powers’ to regularly inspect auto supply shops, especially those selling surplus or second hand parts, to strengthen enforcement of laws on motor vehicle theft and fencing of stolen items; and to deter the buying and selling of such items.
Tinio commended his officers and men for their laudable accomplishments and full support of the PNP’s Lambat-Sibat anti-criminality program to suppress organized crimes, illegal drugs, street crimes, and arrest wanted persons, as ordered by SILG Mel Senen Sarmiento, implemented by PNP Chief, PDG Ricardo Marquez and NCRPO Director, PDIR.
