MORE JOBS ARE NEEDED – JACK

good riddanceA CONSISTENT and firm partnership between the government and the private sector could create more jobs that are needed by the immensely growing population which, according to United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) Senatorial candidate Jack Enrile may reach up to P100 million by year end.

The duo’s sincere collaboration is imperative as part of the overall effort to boost economic growth and reduce poverty levels, says the Cagayan law maker and son of Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile.

Pushing his program “Murang Pagkain, Maraming Pagkain,” the younger Enrile adds: “Job creation should be the priority if we want to reduce the ranks of the poor.”

With the educational system producing about half a million new college graduates every year, he believes that the government must be serious in dealing with the problem and creating more jobs for them must be considered, otherwise, they’ll just add up to the growing number of unemployed.

Rep. Enrile turns to be one of UNA’s leading senatorial bets as shown in all surveys which make him to the Magic 12 of ‘winning senatoriables’ and inspite of being with the ‘opposing’ camp, he wouldn’t hesitate to agree with Malacañang and President Aquino on matters that he feels favorable and beneficial to the people especially those from the poor sector.

The government has Rep. Enrile’s support regarding its plan for non-wage benefits rather than wage increase for the labor sector which the President is reportedly set to announce on Labor Day.

He says “it’s a prudent thing to do as the government must perform a delicate balancing act in satisfying the demands of workers while also protecting the viability of business enterprises, especially the small ones.”

Aside from job creation, Rep. Enrile, if given a chance to get to the Senate, will push food security program and consumer protection from unfair trade practices that result in unjustified and unreasonable increases in the prices of goods and services.

Sportsfest and ALS for Navotas Inmates

THE Navotas City government threw its full support to a planned ‘sportsfest’ of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) which will involve inmates detained at the city jail.

“The event called ‘Tagisan sa Tag-init’ is a welcome move by the BJMP especially this summer in order to keep good relations among the detainees and jail personnel as well,” says Mayor John Rey Tiangco.

Meanwhile, Tiangco says the Alternative Learning System program and the ‘Behind the Bars’ project will continue for the benefit of several inmates at the city jail.

This year’s ALS program which began in January has many detainees, who were not able to finish elementary and high school education, undergoing training and studies.

Those currently enrolled are being readied for their ALS examination this December that if they pass it will make them ‘graduates.’ Bravo!
