RED Horse Beer, the country’s No. 1 Extra Strong Beer is kicking hot only in the Philippines but also in the international arena when it was recently feted a gold medal award for excellence in the prestigious Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA).
More than 1,500 entries from around the world were meticulously tested and tasted by a panel of judges composed of expert brewers and connoisseurs. Only this beer won gold in the Philippines, thus proving its leadership stance in the local alcoholic beverage market.
In the AIBA website, head judge Warren Pawsey said “all beers that were entered were treated with respect, individually assessed, evaluated blind and without bias.” He adds that the awards give brewers an opportunity to benchmark their beers against international industry standards, seek advice from an independent panel of experts, and promote and market award winning products using the AIBA seal of approval.
Presented annually by the Royal Agricultural Society in partnership with the Federation University Australia, the Melbourne-based AIBA which started in 1992, is the largest competition for the beer industry in the Asia Pacific region.
The product’s recent achievement at the AIBA is a clear manifestation of its brand pitch “Ito ang Tama!” and San Miguel Brewery, Inc.’s commitment to excellence and promise to give only the best products and services to its customers.
CALOOCAN POLICE’S WAR vs MALNUTRITION
In Caloocan, the local police has intensified its war against another battle this time on malnutrition which affects a number of residents especially children living in its depressed communities.
Emerging from the latest feeding program held in Barangay 8, police chief Senior Supt. Bernard Tambaoan was extra-gratified by the support provided by village officials led by Chairman Teben Cunanan, a former member of the Sangguniang Panlunsod, for the successful conduct of the project.
“While the city police has been maximizing its resources in its campaign against lawlessness in the city, we are also doubly responsive to the needs of the residents especially our children living in depressed communities in Caloocan,” Col. Tambaoan says.
Hence, he says, the Caloocan police which have likewise been thankful to Mayor Oscar Malapitan and the city government for the massive support it gets from them, have been conducting series of feeding programs since he assumed the post early last year.
He’s committed in the campaign against malnutrition that he opted to celebrate his recent birthday with hundreds of children from several barangays near the police headquarters.
“Instead of a lavish celebration, I have asked my friends and supporters of the Caloocan police to give foods as well as clothing which for sure will be beneficial to hundreds of children from the poor families in the city,” he ends. GOOD RIDDANCE/Arlie O. Calalo
