THE Liberal Party in Caloocan City did it right when it picked Barangay 163 Chairman Cenon Mayor to complete its line-up for the council’s posts in District 1.
Knowing him very well since he worked with a city lawmaker for years with whom Chairman Mayor was primarily tasked to identify and oversee numerous infrastructure and livelihood projects in the district, the LP, which has Liga ng Barangay sa Pilipinas president and Councilor RJ Echiverri as its standard bearer for the mayoralty post, gets the right man.
As a result, he managed to establish constant relationship with the residents as he saw them and talked with them almost daily during those times.
In fact, his election to his current post as barangay chairman showed he’s well-loved by many.
And they didn’t go wrong because Chairman Mayor epitomized how a real public servant is dedicated, competent and honest.
In just more than two years, he has quickly transformed the village into like a roaring dragon flying high and bursting with fire and ready to grab all that come along its way to make it more progressive and competitive as compared with others.
Here comes the call for a higher elective post and greater responsibility and Chairman Mayor can’t just say no to the local electorate that seem to have been addicted to his brand of leadership others obviously don’t have.
Go, Chairman Mayor, the city needs a man of integrity like you.
New PNP recruits in Navotas
IN Navotas City, Mayor John Rey Tiangco welcomes the arrival of at least 96 new recruits from the Philippine National Police who will form part of the local police force headed by Senior Supt. Conrado Gongon.
For sure, the mayor says, their presence will largely boost and intensify the city’s war against lawless elements and illegal activities.
“The city government welcomes the new members of the police force who will be tasked to tighten security and maintain peace and order within the coastal city,” the local chief executive says.
Col. Gongon was all praises for the mayor for his initiative to prod the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) whose chief is Director Leonardo Espina to approve the assignment of the young lawmen to the city.
The NCRPO ordered the detail of the new recruits to the city police in response to the mayor’s request for additional personnel to address the growing number of Navotas residents.
With the new recruits, Col. Gongon said the local police have now a total number of 283 lawmen who are assigned to “serve and protect” more than 270,000 residents.
